Nesto o novom M5

BMW M GmbH President Friedrich Nitschke has revealed some new details about the next-generation M5.

Speaking to Auto Motor und Sport, Nitschke said the current model is "suffering" and adding all-wheel drive on the next-generation M5 could be a "solution." While nothing is set in stone, the executive said the company would have to consider the effects that an all-wheel drive system would have in terms of weight and weight distribution.

Speaking of weight, Nitschke confirmed the next-generation M5 will be lighter than its predecessor. He declined to mention numbers but said he wants the weight savings to be "significantly higher" than the M4 coupe had over its predecessor. This suggests the next M5 will weigh at least 80 kg (176 lbs) less than the current model.

M3/4 sa 4 cilindra?

The latest generation BMW M3 and BMW M4 may have only been recently revealed and driven with their twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engines but the German marque has confirmed the next-gen M3/M4 duo could have to go down the four-cylinder path.

While speaking with Motoring at the launch of the new M3 and M4, BMW M Division Head of Product Management Carsten Pries revealed that it is foreseeable a four-cylinder could feature down the road.

“We do not start our design process with a power output in mind. We have a set of characteristics that a new model must meet. For sure, you could see a future [M3] powered by a four-cylinder engine,” he said.

The new M3 and M4 weigh significantly less than the previous generation M3 but for the next-gen, BMW will likely have to look to reduce weight even further.

“If we have a car with less mass, it is foreseeable that the [performance] targets we set could be reached with a four [cylinder],” Pries said.

A i to sto kazes, niko...

Kada mi budemo dogurali da mozemo da ga priustimo, oko 40, 50 godina, palice se na kurblu, i ici ce na mesavinu, a Mercedes i Audi ima i dalje da se kurce sa r3 motorima.

Dovoljno je da pogledas i8 i da shvatis sta ce biti u buducnosti 3-cilindricni 1.5 benzinac od 230ks i elektro motor od 130ks koji zajedno daju ubrzanje od 4.4s do 100

Ne mogu sad da nadjem clanak o testiranju tog i8, ispostavilo se da do 100 ide ispod 4 sekunde..

A mozda buducnost bude bas drugacija, npr. elektromotori ili motori na hidrogen.
